Homemade Meals
Mealtimes offer children opportunities to learn healthy eating habits and develop a positive approach to various foods. We serve our children with three nutritious meals daily, all of which strictly follow Canada’s Food Guide. We aim to provide nutritious meals and snacks. Also, we aim to help children enjoy meal and snack times and encourage good eating habits by creating a comfortable, friendly, cheerful and relaxed environment for children to eat meals and snacks.
All meals are prepared and cooked at the daycare and are not catered using organic ingredients when possible.
Sample Menu
Monday
Breakfast: Pancake, muffins, syrup and butter
Lunch: Pasta and meat sauce, fruit and vegetables
Snacks: Fruit, yoghurt and granola
Tuesday
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: Grilled cheese with chicken, fruit and vegetables
Snacks: Fruit bowl with nut and bolts
Wednesday
Breakfast: 12-grain waffles, syrup and fruit
Lunch: Rice, chicken and broccoli pilau with fruit
Snacks: Pita, hummus and fruit
Thursday
Breakfast: Cream of wheat
Lunch: Israeli couscous, Salmon, Spinach with fruit and vegetables
Snacks: Oatmeal muffins with raisins and applesauce
Friday
Breakfast: Multigrain toast with homemade jam
Lunch: Homemade pizza with fruit and vegetables
Snacks: Cheese, crackers, cucumbers and split grapes
